Committed to a bright future.

Hi, my name is Chris Linke and I currently have two children at GSLS. We have been involved at GLSL since 2010, and my husband enjoyed his schooling here too. My employment background is Executive/Personal Assistant roles and I am currently Maggie Beer’s Personal Assistant. My involvement with the Parents & Friends Committee and Governing Council has been a real pleasure, as has watching the school evolve inside and out with building improvements, expansions, and beautiful outside play areas. We have also seen amazing technology changes over recent years and the students have benefitted greatly from the STEM programs. Everything GSLS does is focused on the students and their best learning outcomes. The Staff are an amazing team of nurturing educators who strive to bring out the best in every student and with wellbeing as a key focus and the Lutheran Ethos in the School, our school families are all one big family in this community.

Our time at GSLS started back in 2007, and we couldn’t be happier with how our children have grown academically and socially in their time here. My husband and I live on our farm at St Kitts, north of the Barossa Valley, with our 6 children, all of which have attended Good Shepherd Lutheran School. We currently have 2 children still here. I attended GSLS myself and have been on the school council for several years now, and am extremely passionate about helping to be a part of keeping this wonderful school growing and thriving for many future families to enjoy and benefit from.

Our time at Good Shepherd started late 2013, when searching for the most appropriate school for our children. Good Shepherd was the first school my husband and I visited… and it was the only school! The feeling when we walked in the door was like coming home to family. We now have both of our children at GSLS, and both are thriving – each in their own different ways – both academically and emotionally.

My employment experience is varied – working in fields of book publishing, event organizing, design studio coordination and print production. Since having children, I have been working together with my husband in our family Crash Repair Business, in addition to this I am now pursuing a certificate in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care – with the hopes of becoming a School Chaplain in the future.

I feel blessed to be involved in the Governing Board and to have an input into progressing the caring character that defines and sets the Good Shepherd community apart from other schools.

After studying B.Bus Ag(Com) Sydney University (Orange), I’ve acquired +20 years’ experience in commercial and industrial business working in Australian and abroad. I’m the General Manager of the Ahrens Group’s – Grain Storage and Handling Division which led to my wife Sarah and I moving to the Barossa 10 years ago from central NSW. We have 3 beautiful little girls – 2 attending (and loving) Good Shepherd. Being on the school governing council enables me to assist in continuing the schools positive trajectory, while ensuring we maintain the core focus of providing a safe and wonderful learning environment for our children.
